  • How long will we work together for?
It really depends! I ask for an initial 3 month commitment as this is how long it usually takes to delve into your history, change thinking patterns and apply the changes that we discuss during our sessions. Beyond this timeframe, it’s completely up to you to decide when you feel confident enough to continue on your own. All of my clients are different; some have finished at the 12 week mark, some are still with me 2 years later! There are various payment options available for ongoing support, depending on your needs and desires.
  • What level of commitment do you require from clients?
I want you to get the most of your coaching journey. In order to achieve this, these are the client expectations for during and outside of our sessions: 1. Active Participation in Sessions: During our sessions, I encourage your active participation and honest communication. Your willingness to share your thoughts, experiences, and challenges will help me understand your unique situation better. I may ask questions to gain insights into your behaviors, emotions, and triggers, and it's important that you engage openly in these discussions. 2. Willingness to Explore Emotions and Behaviours: Our work extends beyond discussing nutrition alone. We will also delve into the emotional aspects of your relationship with food and body image. This may involve exploring underlying beliefs, coping mechanisms, and past experiences that contribute to your current challenges. It's essential that you approach these discussions with an open mind and a readiness to explore and reflect upon your emotions and behaviors. 3. Implementation of Recommendations: Outside of our sessions, your commitment to implementing the strategies, techniques, and recommendations we discuss is crucial. I will provide you with personalized action steps and exercises to complete. Your willingness to put these into practice and make consistent efforts will contribute significantly to your progress. 4. Practice Patience and Persistence: Transforming your relationship with food, body image, and emotions takes time and effort. It's important to approach this journey with patience and persistence. Progress may not always be linear, and setbacks or challenges may arise. This is all part of the process, and I am here to help you navigate these obstacles and continue moving forward. 5. Willingness to Seek Support: As your coach, I encourage you to reach out for support whenever needed. If you encounter difficulties, have questions, or require additional guidance, it's important to communicate openly with me. Seeking support from loved ones, friends, or mental health professionals is also highly encouraged to create a strong support network around you. Remember, our coaching relationship is a collaborative effort. I am here to provide guidance, expertise, and support, but your commitment to the process is essential for applying the skills in the real world and achieving lasting change.
  • Where do the sessions take place?
All sessions are conducted online via Zoom, meaning you can easily access coaching regardless of where you live in the world, from the comfort and privacy of your own home.
  • I want to lose weight. Can you help me?
I always like to clarify that I am not an anti-diet practitioner. However, I strongly believe that diet culture and fad dieting can cause a lot of harm, so I emphasise finding sustainable and achievable methods for clients to improve their food choices. I am here to support YOU- whatever your goals may be. I often work with clients to help them lose weight or implement other lifestyle changes, but with the emphasis on improving their relationship with food and their body. The scientific literature on body image emphasises that this is key to supporting long term changes and improved overall wellbeing.
  • Why should I sign up for coaching?
If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably tried a lot of methods already. Sometimes it’s a case of information overload- we do all the learning and think we can apply it to help ourselves, but end up frustrated and giving up. It’s not uncommon for me to hear my clients say “I know everything I need to do, so why can’t I just do it?” This is where coaching comes in. I provide: 1. Personalised guidance and support: all guidance will be tailored to your specific needs, goals, and challenges. I consider your unique circumstances, such as your history with dieting and body image, your current lifestyle, your personal preferences and the challenges you’ve experienced, to create a personalized approach that promotes both physical and mental well-being. 2. Expert knowledge and education: I possess a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the field of nutrition, body image and eating disorder research. I am deeply passionate when it comes to further educating myself on nutrition research as well as behavioural psychology modalities, enabling me to provide you with accurate and evidence-based information and advice. 3. The skills you need to break free from disordered eating patterns: Overcoming disordered eating habits such as binge eating can be challenging, and having a coach can be a crucial support system throughout your journey. I can help you to develop a healthier relationship with food by identifying triggers, exploring the root causes of your disordered eating, and assisting you in developing mindful and intuitive eating habits. 4. Accountability and motivation: A nutrition coach serves as an accountability partner who keeps you motivated and on track towards your goals. I provide ongoing support, encouragement, and guidance, helping you stay committed to making positive changes to your life. By using regular check-ins and a range of resources, I can help you navigate obstacles, celebrate achievements, and adjust your approach as needed. 5. Holistic approach to wellbeing: A skilled nutrition coach understands that true health and wellbeing go beyond just food. I consider multiple factors such as stress, sleep, physical activity, emotional regulation and self-care practices to develop a comprehensive and holistic approach to improving your overall wellbeing. By addressing these interconnected aspects of health, I can help you achieve sustainable results. 6. Emotional support and empathy: Dealing with negative body image and disordered eating can be emotionally challenging. I not only offer nutritional guidance but also provide a safe and supportive environment where you can openly express your concerns and emotions. I offer empathy, understanding, and non-judgmental support, ensuring that you feel heard and validated throughout your journey. You can find out more about me here. By seeking the expertise of a nutrition coach, you invest in your long-term health, happiness, and the development of a healthier relationship with food and your body.
  • Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! If you commit to the 3 month coaching block, this can be paid in fortnightly or monthly installments.
